Resolved Question: Can hurricane Irene kill the Hudson Valley if you just stay in your house?

So I live in the Hudson Valley(NY) and I have been so scared for this hurricane because all of the news reporters make it sound so bad and scary. So I know that it won't be as bad as they said it'd be but I am getting a category 2 hurricane so I'm afraid a tree will fall on my house and kill us or we will get a flood in my house.
